New Year’s Eve is two weeks away and it is time to complete your New Year’s Eve party planning. New Year’s is a time for reflection and a time to look forward to something new. It is also a great time for celebration and is the perfect capstone to the Holiday season. Gather with your family and friends to enjoy an evening together. Here are five ideas for hosting a successful New Year’s Eve party.
1) Formal or Informal? You need to decide if you want to host a Formal or an informal party. Your guests may appreciate the opportunity to dress in the finest for a formal evening out or they may look forward to an informal evening after the hustle and bustle of the Holidays. Review your guest list and make a decision about what you think your guests would enjoy more.
2) Champagne. A toast to ring in New Year’s is a tradition that many take part in. Have enough on hand for at least one glass of champagne (either the alcoholic or sparkling kind) for each of your guests.
3) Food. Make sure that you have plenty of food on hand for your guests. You can either serve a full meal or just appetizers and dessert depending on what time your party starts. If your party is going to be longer than three hours, then dinner is probably a must to help keep your guests going until midnight.
4) Party Games. Your guests will probably enjoy eating and chatting with you and your other guests but it is also a good idea to have a plan for entertaining your guests. Have some printable New Year’s Eve games on hand. These great games can be printed right from your home computer and will save you time from having to research and create your own.
5) Noisemakers and Hats. Ring in the New Year loudly with some fun noisemakers. Have an assortment of New Year’s Eve hats, glasses, and LED buttons for your guests to choose from. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures of your guests dressed up!
Enjoy a wonderful evening with your family and friends. Feel free to share your New Year’s Eve traditions. Finalize your plans today and don’t let the New Year sneak up on you.

The Holidays are in full swing. Gifts are being wrapped, Holiday cards are being sent, lights are being put up and cookies are being baked. In the hustle and bustle though take a look at your calendar going forward. You want to make sure that you have not forgotten any birthdays to be celebrated in January.
You will want to put your planning into action now. Sit down and devote a little bit of time to planning your child’s birthday party or whatever event you will be celebrating. If you are ordering your party supplies and invitations make sure that you give plenty of time for shipping.
You may worry that people will misplace a birthday party invitation with all of the Christmas and Holiday cards that are sent this time of year. You goal should be to help them stand out from all the others. Handmade invitations or ones that you order should fit the theme of the party so that people will take notice.
Take a little bit of time now and you will avoid a last minute scramble to throw a January birthday party together. Your child will appreciate it and it will be much easier on you.

Christmas is only 2 weeks away and that means it is time to make sure you are finishing your to do list in order to finish everything in time. Each family has a different tradition when it comes to decorating their Christmas tree. Some families put theirs up while still putting away Thanksgiving leftovers. Others decorate their tree on Christmas Eve. Whatever your family’s tradition is, consider having a Christmas tree decorating party.
This fun party can help to bring your family and friends together without the pressure of it being a gift giving event. Plus it has the added bonus of their being a decorated tree at the end! It will be great to see the finished Christmas tree and see how everyone came together to decorate it.
The food can be very simple. Order a pizza or a party sub, serve some eggnog, and bake some sugar cookies. Ask your guests to bring a dish to pass if you want. The event should be casual and a way for people to step out of the hustle and bustle for a minute and just enjoy the Holidays. Serve everything on some fun Holiday plates and cups.
Have your tree ready to be decorated before your guests arrive. An artificial tree or a real one will do. Have boxes of lights and ornaments at the ready. You may want to provide gentle instruction as to what goes on first (i.e. first the lights, then the ornaments, etc.). Placement of lights, ornaments, ribbons and garlands can be left up to your guests though. Leave the tree topper for last so that everyone can take a moment to view the finished Christmas tree.
A simple party favor can be a Christmas ornament that your guests can take home to place on their own tree. It can be a “From Our Christmas Tree to Yours” gesture. Have a wonderful time at your Christmas tree decorating party.
