“Allll Aboard!” Kids love those big engines that rumble down the tracks with a history that goes back nearly as far as our nations’. Here are some ideas to throw them a Train Birthday Party!
You can make invitations resembling train boarding passes. Use cream colored cardstock and scallop the edges to make it look like a printed ticket. On the front, write “Admit One Passenger” with party details on the back. There are some really cute pre-made train invitations you can use, as well. If you choose to host your party at a train station, train museum, or other train related spot, be sure to note that on the directions.
As the kids arrive, give them their own Train Conductor Hat and then encourage them to decorate their own Train Boxcar! With glue, glitter, washable paint, crayons, and stickers, they can adorn their boxcar (out of shoeboxes you gathered before the party) with whatever delights their fancy. Other games can include Red Light, Green Light or Conductor Says (played just like Simon Says). Breaking open a train piñata would be fun, too.
Offer up simple fair for their little fingers. Train-shaped sandwiches, fruit kabobs, veggie platters with ranch dip, and pretzels will easily satisfy little tummies so they can get back to train related activities! A train-shaped cake will bring on huge smiles of delight!
Our sweet kidlets will jump with joy over their Train Birthday Party! Happy Choo-Choo’ing!!
