The underwater world is so mysterious and magical with unusual creatures, dancing vegetation, and colorful fish. Is it any wonder that children are captivated with the ocean? A Sea Life Birthday Party is swimmingly simple to pull off.
Effortless invitations can be made with bright blue cardstock. Fold the cardstock in half and cut the bottom edge in a wavy manner to look like water. Decorate the front with ocean life stickers and on the inside, with silver marker, write “Swim on over to our place for _______’s Birthday Party.” Sea Life invitations are easy to buy, too.
On the big day, make things feel “watery” with special decorations (totally optional, but wickedly cool) such as an underwater scene kit or wall decals of sea creatures. Think blues and greens with regards to streamers and balloons.
To occupy their young bodies and minds, try games like a Seashell Hunt using a kiddie pool filled with sand or Shark Tag where the “shark” tags all the “fish.”
For “seafood” fare, think Fish & Chips! It can even be as simple as fish sticks and French fries. Fill sea shells with easy snacks like M&Ms, goldfish crackers, pretzels, etc. Another idea would be to offer up unusual food that most kids haven’t tried like seaweed salad, sushi, and fried shrimp.
Even though we can’t have the party underwater (yet!! Maybe in 2018?), your Sea Life Birthday Party will be just as fun!
