Set to release on December 11, the Princess and the Frog movie is sure to become famous with young girls everywhere. Disney’s idea of “a dream is a wish your heart makes…” again comes alive with this fantastic story as a pretty Tiana is mistakenly seen as a princess by the frog prince. Your daughter will certainly relish in being royalty for the day with her own Princess and the Frog Birthday Party.
Start things off with beautiful invitations. Print an image of Princess Tiana onto pastel colored cardstock and write your event details in dark blue calligraphy. If you prefer, there are really stunning invitations available to purchase, as well as coordinating party supplies including plates, napkins, placemats, and a beautiful centerpiece.
The story is about making and keeping promises with your friends, so start the activities off by making friendship bracelets out of string (or hemp) and beads. Other fun games like Leap Frog, Musical Lily Pads (played just like musical chairs), or Pin the Kiss on the Frog (a huge cut out frog and little cut out lips) should bring a lot of laughter. All of the gals in attendance will love having their photo taken with an awesome Princess Tiana stand-up and they will delight in a party favor kit that includes their own tiara!
Petite fours, fruit and yogurt parfaits, and vegetables with a fancy pumpkin dip straight from the pumpkin itself makes for a fancy feast suitable for princesses. Since the movie takes place in New Orleans, with its amazing array of history, don’t be afraid to serve up cultural food such as beignets (square-shaped fried pastries), Po’boy sammies, jambalaya, or red beans & rice.
This princess tale will be a popular favorite with the girls this winter and so, too, will your Princess and the Frog Birthday Party!
