Our little monkeys are growing up! And while it is sad to see them take the steps farther away from babyhood, we can have tons of enjoyment by celebrating their big day with a fun Mod Monkey Birthday Party!
To make some cute invitations, draw a jungle scene onto white cardstock and then arrange monkey stickers hanging from the branches. Don’t forget the time, date, and location when you write the party details inside. If making invitations isn’t your style, there are some super cute themed ones available to purchase with coordinating party supplies and favor boxes.
Get the party started with an enjoyable joint activity: a Jungle Mural. Spread out wide butcher paper, crayons, markers, and jungle-themed stickers and let the kids decorate to their hearts content. Then on to fun games like:
– Monkey in the Middle: have the kids form a big circle with one in the center. They have to toss a big beach ball all over until the monkey in the middle intercepts. The one who was tossing when it got caught then becomes the monkey
– Animal Game: have the kids draw a card with an animal on it. They then have to act that animal out
– Monkey See, Monkey Do: played just like Follow the Leader
– Monkey Pinata! I don’t know of any kids who dislikes treats falling from a monkey!
Our little primates will love yummy food items like monkey dogs (place a banana into a hot dog bun and top with nut butter), Trail Mix with dried bananas, raisins, nuts, and coconut, fruit salad, popcorn, chips and dip. You can also make sandwiches look a little monkey-like by cutting them into circles, attaching a bit of bread for ears, and gluing raisins for the eyes, nose, and mouth with nut butter.
The kidlets will have tons of fun at their Mod Monkey Birthday Party!
