Host a Movie Viewing Party

With the days starting to get shorter and the nights getting colder, it is very tempting to stay indoors.  That does not mean days of parties and getting together with friends is over though.  Have your friends over for a movie viewing party.  Most of the summer blockbusters have been released onto DVD and you should have many new movies to choose from.

A movie viewing party can work with many different age groups.  You will just need to choose the right movie for your guests.  Everyone will love this movie party supply theme.

The best way to set the mood for any party is with the invitations.  You can choose the movie ticket themed invitations or come up with a variation of your own.  Perhaps mail them a package of microwave popcorn with a ticket attached that contains the movie party information.  A box of candy typically found at the movie theater such as Dots or Raisinets will also work.

Take a note from a movie theater’s concession stand to get ideas for your food menu.  Nachos, hotdogs and popcorn are all popular choices.  Set up a popcorn topping bar.  Popcorn is not just limited to salt and butter anymore.  Garlic, cinnamon, jalapeños and more make great additions to this classic treat.  Your guests will love being able to add their own toppings.

You will want to set up your movie viewing area with the most comfy seating possible.  Perhaps you can line up some couches and armchairs to seat your guests on.  Choose the biggest television screen in your home to watch the movie on.  Or if you have a projector than perhaps you can use a large wall or screen to show your movie on.  If the weather is still nice in your area, think about viewing the movie drive in style.  Project the movie onto a wall of your home or garage and let people set up blankets and lawn chairs.

Have a great Movie Viewing Party and enjoy the Movies!
