Curious George Birthday PartyThe curious little monkey has been entertaining children and adults for over sixty-five years. His antics are in countless books, movies and television shows. Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat go on adventures together.  Sometimes they are simple such as visiting an ice cream parlor and other times they are more elaborate such as when Curious George must go to the hospital for an operation (a personal favorite in our home). If your child is a fan then maybe you should host a Curious George birthday party.

Creating your own Curious George party invitations can be fun and easy. Use some yellow construction paper or cardstock to cut out shapes similar to the Yellow Hat. Use your books for inspiration to get the shape just right. Hand print the party information right to the card or use your printer and print onto plain white paper. You can then cut these out and glue or tape to the hat shapes. A example of invitation wording could be:

The little monkey sure is Curious what a 4th birthday for Jordan can be.

A great party activity for this party is to play games that a monkey will love. Create a poster board with a Curious George cut-out and then make bananas from yellow construction paper. Your guests can then play pin the banana on the monkey.  Curious George has a big adventure when he tries to fly a kite. Let your party guests try their hand at building their own kites with some pre-cut dowel rods, kite paper, and string. Make sure that each kite has a tail.

The food for a Curious George party should include things that a monkey and kids will like. Have a bunch of bananas spread around the buffet table. Fruit kabobs and banana smoothies are both healthy choices. Serve banana nut cake (always ask if your guests have allergies) and banana ice cream.

A great favor to send your guests home with is a copy of a Curious George book. A paperback book can be a very economical thank you gift. Personalize each book with an inscription. The perfect book is Curious George and the Birthday Surprise. With this tips and ideas your child is sure to have a wonderful Curious George birthday party.
