Christmas is only 2 weeks away and that means it is time to make sure you are finishing your to do list in order to finish everything in time. Each family has a different tradition when it comes to decorating their Christmas tree. Some families put theirs up while still putting away Thanksgiving leftovers. Others decorate their tree on Christmas Eve. Whatever your family’s tradition is, consider having a Christmas tree decorating party.
This fun party can help to bring your family and friends together without the pressure of it being a gift giving event. Plus it has the added bonus of their being a decorated tree at the end! It will be great to see the finished Christmas tree and see how everyone came together to decorate it.
The food can be very simple. Order a pizza or a party sub, serve some eggnog, and bake some sugar cookies. Ask your guests to bring a dish to pass if you want. The event should be casual and a way for people to step out of the hustle and bustle for a minute and just enjoy the Holidays. Serve everything on some fun Christmas party supplies.
Have your tree ready to be decorated before your guests arrive. An artificial tree or a real one will do. Have boxes of lights and ornaments at the ready. You may want to provide gentle instruction as to what goes on first (i.e. first the lights, then the ornaments, etc.). Placement of lights, ornaments, ribbons and garlands can be left up to your guests though. Leave the tree topper for last so that everyone can take a moment to view the finished Christmas tree.
A simple party favor can be a Christmas ornament that your guests can take home to place on their own tree. It can be a “From Our Christmas Tree to Yours” gesture. Have a wonderful time at your Christmas tree decorating party.
