While it is only July, the time when our little ones return to the independent halls of school is fast approaching. It never hurts to be prepared in advance with supplies, back packs, and clothes. Yet, I am sure that one thing is missing from your “To Do List”… A Back to School Party!!!
Get the kid’s attention with a report card styled invitation. Fold white cardstock in half and decorate the front with boxes filled with subjects and grades. On the inside, write something like “A+ for Back to School Party Fun!” Your décor can be centered on your child’s school colors with piles of books, apples, and maps strategically placed as your centerpiece.
Aim your activities towards games that remind of us those good ol’ gym days like dodge ball, Twister, and relay races. Of course, we all remember those attempts to distract the class from boring teachers, so encourage a paper airplane contest! Provide paper, clips, tape, and crayons/markers and then watch them zoom!
Your party food should be reminiscent of school food (but taste WAY better). Offer up trays of PB&J sandwiches, pizza slices, string cheese, grapes, baby carrots, and those fun little pudding cups. Yum!
Send all of your guests home with their very own personalized bag tag that they can put on their backpack. The end of summer is looming and school days are just around the bend, so have a blast getting ready with your “Back to School” Party!
