Can you believe that 2009 is already nearly over and 2010 is just around the corner?!? Man! This year has flown by. At least it means we have an excuse for another holiday party! WOOT! So, get out your glittery 2010 glasses, favorite noisemakers, and party planning book to prepare for your New Year’s Eve Party!
For a snazzy invitation, fold colorful cardstock in half. Unfold momentarily and cut an image of a champagne glass on one side of the front and next to it, write “You’re Invited.” Back on the inside, paste white paper to the back and stamp the area that shows through the cut-out glass with bubbles. Add your party details. Of course, if that is a wee bit too much work, you can always buy elegant invitations along with your party supplies.
Most guests will simply enjoy the champagne, the events featured on the television, and conversing with friends. I, personally, think there is always room for board games or fun themed printable games. Sharing your New Year’s resolutions never gets old, either. If you have any children that decide to tag along, you can set up a table for them filled with magazines, paper, glue, and scissors so they can create a collage of what their past year has been like. Above all else, don’t forget the essential noisemakers, party hats, funky glasses, and confetti for the midnight entertainment.
For a satisfying, yet simple menu, I think a cocktail party is in order. Blood-orange punch, fancy cheese balls, bacon-wrapped dates, and lemon-parsley gougeres make tasty treats (thanks to the domestic queen of the US). You can also buy frozen appetizers, which are especially handy for any unexpected guests.
With these tips, your New Year’s Eve Party will be a smashing success!
