Easter is a fun holiday for crafting, especially for kids. With the brightly colored materials, spring-time themes, and endless symbols to contemplate, the projects will easily be fun, vibrant, and charming. Here are some ideas to get those creative juices flowing!

  1. Easter Bunny Plates: Take two paper plates (in pastel colors) and cut one in half (these will be the ears). Glue the ears behind the head plate and use pom-poms, construction paper, glue, and ribbon to decorate the head of your bunny with whiskers, eyes, little triangle nose, and any other accessory needed.
  2. Decoupage Eggs: a great craft for the older kid. Have mom/dad blow out eggs (wash and let dry first), while the kids cut out images from printed napkins or tissue paper (if using napkins, make sure you peel the layers apart). Apply Mod Podge to the egg, affix the chosen image, and use your brush to smooth out. When the egg looks done, apply another coat of Mod Podge to the entire surface and let dry.
  3. Prayer Journal: a simple craft for those who celebrate the spiritual aspect of Easter
  4. Easter Treat Buckets: paint mini pails with spring colors (check your craft store for the right paint) and cute images before filling with delicious chocolate egg treats. It’s the perfect craft to gift to family and friends.

Simple, sweet, and meaningful – your children will really enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Dart Frog Birthday Party Ideas

by Partyelf on March 15, 2010

Frogs really are cute, despite what the old fairy tales say. And, while poisonous, the dart frog is a beautifully colored creature. A Dart Frog Birthday Party is a great way to celebrate your inquisitive, frog-loving child’s big day.

For simple invitations, find “leaf” or “grass” scrapbook paper. Fold white cardstock in half, paste the scrap paper to the top of the card (trim the edges if they over hand) and decorate with dart frog stickers (or frog shapes cut out of bright, colorful paper). Write your party details inside. Pre-made invitations are a totally cool option, too, so go ahead and grab the matching party supplies.

Hang up your personalized banner and let the games begin! With ideas like ‘Musical Lily Pads’ (just like musical chairs), Croaking and Frog Jumping contests (who can jump the farthest, the shortest, the silliest, the fastest, etc), and Leap Frog, the kids will not have one minute of boredom. Other simple activities can include frog coloring pages and ‘Guess How Many’ (fill a jar with brightly colored candy so the kids can guess how many are inside). Party favors filled with dart frog memorabilia is a must.

For a delightful menu, offer up chicken nuggets, green Mac & cheese (dye with food coloring), Frog-eyed Salad, and Flies on a Log (celery sticks topped with almond butter and brown M&Ms). The hungry bellies will snap it up in no time.

Your child will have a great birthday party with these ideas. Find all of these items on our Dart Frog Birthday Party Supplies page!
